Worshiping Through the Storm

Worshiping Through the Storm

Life doesn’t always look the way we imagined.

Some days are full of light — joy bubbling up unexpectedly, laughter filling our homes, and answers to long-prayed prayers.
But other days?
They feel like a storm we never saw coming.

Grief.
Disappointment.
Waiting.
Loneliness.
Confusion.

And in the middle of that storm, it’s easy to look around and think:

“Everyone else has it together.”

We scroll past the perfect photos.
We smile at church while silently wondering how one person’s still glowing with joy.
We compare our pain to someone else’s peace and assume God must be nearer to them than to us.

But here’s the truth that often goes unseen:

Sometimes the glow we see is from the fire they’re walking through.

That peace you admire? It’s not because life is perfect.
It’s because they’ve learned to worship even when it’s not.

That smile you see? It might be hiding tears you don’t know about.

That strength you notice? It’s been forged in silence, in midnight prayers, in moments of surrender.

Because sometimes the very person you believe God is favoring…
Is the one who’s holding on to Him by a thread.

And yet — they’re still holding on.

Still singing through the tears.
Still praising through the pain.
Still lifting their eyes even when their heart feels heavy.

That, friend, is worship.
Not the kind that waits for the breakthrough…
But the kind that becomes the breakthrough.

That’s what God treasures. That’s where His presence shows up.
Not just when the storm ends — but in the middle of it.

The enemy wants you to believe that your hard season means God has left you.
But Scripture tells a different story:

“Though the waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging... God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved.”
Psalm 46:3,5

He is in the middle of your mess.
He’s not waiting for you on the other side—He’s walking you through it.

So if you’re tired, broken, or confused today, here’s what I want you to know:

You’re not forgotten.
You’re not overlooked.
You’re not weak for feeling weary.
And you don’t have to wait for life to be perfect before you praise.

Worship is your weapon.
Faith is your fire.
And even if all you can do today is whisper “Jesus” — that’s enough.

So keep worshiping.
Keep walking.
Keep believing.

The storm doesn’t get the final say.
God does.
